4(1)b) The particulars of its organization, functions and duties Board of Radiation & Isotope Technology was carved out of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in March 1989 by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. This unit was constituted by Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India to extend commercial applications of radioisotopes and radiation in the areas of Health, Agriculture, Industry & Research.

• The nature of the activities of BRIT does not involve any subsidy programmes.
