Regional Centre, Dibrugarh

Regional Centre, Dibrugarh was established in 1988 and is located in the premises of Assam Medical College and Hospital which is one of the premier and oldest medical institutes of North-eastern region of India.

This centre will serve as a major conduit for supply of radiopharmaceuticals proposed to be produced at MCF (Cyclone 30), Kolkata to patients in Assam and neighbouring states, who are otherwise compelled to travel to distant places for Nuclear Medicine services.

Recently Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) has become a grants-in-aid institute of DAE under Tata Memorial Centre for Cancer, Mumbai. Moreover, due to high prevalence of cancer in this region - particularly cancer of naso-pharynx and head and neck region - RC, Dibrugarh is poised to play a pivotal role in providing cost-effective management of these diseases by regular supply of TCK cold kits and SPECT/PET radiopharmaceuticals to this region.

This Centre is involved in:

  • Providing routine RIA/IRMA services to its customers.
  • Providing technical help and guidance for Research and Development in Life Sciences and in RIA/IRMA applications.
  • Providing technical assistance for setting up new RIA Laboratories in this region.
