BRIT Bengaluru Regional Centre was set up in 1984 and is located in the premises of Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology (KMIO) at Bengaluru. This Centre is committed to serving your needs in Radiopharmaceuticals, Radioactivity Testing and Certification in food and water samples, and Blood Irradiation.

This Centre is involved in the following:

Radiopharmaceutical Services

The Centre offers services to Nuclear Medicine Centres located in and around the region.

• Production, quality control, and supply of ready-to-use 99mTc (Technetium) radiopharmaceuticals.
• Sale of cold kits for preparation of 99mTc-radiopharmaceutical formulations.

Gamma Irradiation Services

• Cs-137 based gamma irradiator (BI 2000) is used for blood irradiation.
• This Centre is actively involved in the irradiation of blood using a gamma irradiation chamber for different hospitals and blood banks in Bengaluru.

Radioactivity Testing in Food and Water Samples

Our Radioanalytical Laboratory is NABL accredited under ISO/IEC 17025:2017 for testing and calibration. We specialize in testing and certifying radioactivity levels in:

National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories

• Radioactivity testing (Cs-137) for exports to countries like Bangladesh: Farm products, Milk products, Meat, Animal Feed, Spices, etc.
• Gross Alpha & Beta in packaged and drinking water for BIS certification (IS 10500, IS 14543).
